Foraging and jam-making experience

Walk into the peaceful boreal forest and delight in the hunt for blueberries, lingonberries, or the much sought after Gold of the North, cloudberries! Our local guide will take you to the best nearby spots where you can forage for berries surrounded by the beautiful Scandinavian taiga. 

Enjoy a homemade wilderness fika by the stunning Vindel bay while learning about local history and culture. You will be shown step by step how to make jam over the open fire with the freshly picked berries and each participant will receive their own jar of the jam, so you can take home a taste of the north.

    What to bring

    • Waterproof boots or rain boots
    • Box or bag for taking home extra berries
    • Comfortable clothing suitable for the weather – long-sleeved shirt and pants are recommended

    This activity takes place in the forest off-trail and may include crossing peatlands. For added stability, hiking poles are available for rent. A short safety briefing including pole fitting will be performed before the activity begins. 

    The workshop takes place in most weathers – as the Swedes say: “There are no bad weathers, just bad clothes!”
